I wanted to inform y choice of typefaces so I started to look at the perdiodic table, this is the most commonly printed and recognised version of the table and the font used I think is quite iconic to the table. It looks a lot like helvetica or akzidenz grotesk but the upper case G's are different, it's actually Arial Bold.
