Zine Covers

I've had the idea of make a double layer cover for the zines, I've worked to this because I really wanted to use symbology on the covers but also to use a photographic reference to each subject. Yesterday I'd been trying to work the two idea on top of one another but I don't think it was really working, the two ideas start to cancel themselves out and get lost in one another when they were both flat on a page. Now I'd like to try doing the photographic images on coloured stock, then overlaying a semi transparent stock with the symbols one to create a bit of difference between the layers. These are the intial photographs I've sourced and I've mocked up the colours of stock I'd print into and how that would effect the images.
